Hear what people are saying about Music Ecademy
I’ve been using Music Ecademy since 2016. This year I’ve started using it with all my junior classes from year 7-10. It’s a great resource, that covers all the topics you need and allows your advanced students to be extended.
Jaroslav is so easy to deal with and is so helpful with any questions or requests I’ve had. Highly recommended!
Music Ecademy allows students to work at a more accelerated rate than I can provide in half hour lessons. Music is a complex language to learn. When I teach, I believe it an essential skill for students to have an understanding of how music is written. I have 60 piano students and 25 of these students are sitting piano examinations this year. I find it tricky to teach sight reading skills; sight singing; rhythm reading; scales; arpeggios; pieces; aural and theory in a half hour lesson. If we start every lesson with theory it can take up to ten minutes out of the lesson.
The Music Ecademy website enables me to teach theory and aural more comprehensively. I can check to see which students are having difficulty in specific areas (such as note grouping) and discuss that at the lesson. I monitor who is using the website, and notice that those students who would regularly leave their theory book at home are surprisingly happy to do their theory using the website. It has encouraged me to communicate with parents more, to advise them what I would like their child to complete. In reading music, having good aural skills is invaluable. The Aural Trainer section is extremely helpful as I often feel this is an area in my teaching that is touched on too briefly.
Students that use the website most are aged from 8 and above. But it also suits adult students. I especially like seeing students in Year 6, 7 and 8 leap onto the website and charge ahead.
Music Ecademy has provided a platform where my students can aim for excellence.
My two children, 11 and 8, are really enjoying Music Ecademy that teaches the written side of learning music. The set up gets the knowledge in and the games keep them engaged. My perfectionist 11yr old loves the fact she can go back over the quiz until she knows her stuff and gets everything right.
